- Planning a trip of any length to a malaria zone
- Want personalised advice on mosquito avoidance and other precautions
- Have not travelled to a malaria area before and need guidance
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have existing health conditions (we'll advise on suitability)
- Prefer a private appointment outside NHS waiting times

Things to know before you go
Standard reasons we may not prescribe anti malarial medication:
- Severe liver disease
- Severe kidney disease
- Certain heart rhythm conditions
- Known allergy to anti malarial drugs
- Uncontrolled epilepsy (some medications)
- Porphyria
If you have any of these, we'll discuss alternatives or refer you to your GP.
