Things to know
Rabies vaccination is not suitable for everyone. Speak to our team if any of the following apply to you.
- Severe allergy to vaccine ingredients
- Severe illness or fever on appointment day
- Pregnancy (discuss timing with your GP)
- Weakened immune system
- Recent live vaccines
If you have been bitten or scratched by an animal abroad, seek medical attention immediately, even if you've been vaccinated. Post-exposure treatment must start as soon as possible to be effective.
